There has been a lot going on recently at Strongbuild, with some very exciting milestones and ‘firsts’ being achieved across the whole business and this week saw another significant highlight as we landed on site our first prefabricated bathroom pods and prefabricated wall panels that have come out of our manufacturing facility. The project, Parklands Estate at Rouse Hill, consists of 62 x 2 storey Town Homes that we have had the opportunity to design right through from concept to delivery utilising the expertise of our team, resources through our manufacturing facility and an array of products allowing us to deliver an exceptionally high quality product in a very controlled manner.
It is probably one of the proudest moments I have had in business as it represents over 7 years of planning, research and development as well as a significant amount of time and effort by everyone involved to get to this point. Not only us as Directors, but everyone in the office, the design team and the crew on the factory floor have each played their part to make this a success and we are truly grateful for the commitment shown by them all. The investment in the manufacturing facility has allowed us to streamline the manufacture of key building elements, off site in a controlled factory environment – floors, walls, roofs, bathroom pods and joinery components are pre-finished to millimetre accuracy in the factory, then transported and assembled on-site.
Panelisation puts Strongbuild in control of the negative variables associated with the building industry and is the key to creating more product consistently faster, more economically and to a higher standard. By combining sustainable resources with performance enhancing building systems, methods and detailing, we’ll be able to deliver product with much higher quality, in a shorter timeframe, more efficiently and more sustainably than ever before. In just 1.5 days we have installed, 11 bathrooms, 2 ground floor walls structures (that are prefinished with plasterboard, insulation, windows and doors installed, sarking and battens ready for external cladding) and 2 first floor structures (our prefabricated floor cassettes). This represents a significant saving in time for the project.
We also need to thank Greg Taylor and his team at Residential Group for their faith in us to deliver this ‘new way’ of building on their project.
